Privacy
Spade² is a price-comparison tool. You do not need an account, and we collect as little as the product needs to work and to be improved. This page describes what that is, in plain language. It is not legal advice.
What we store
- Search text. When you run a search, the words you typed are stored with a timestamp so we can see which products people look for and which searches find nothing.
- Page and click events. We record that a product page was opened, that a store comparison was opened, and that a merchant link was clicked — with the product, merchant and destination address involved. These are counts of activity, not a profile of you.
- An anonymous session cookie. A cookie called
si_aidholds a random identifier so that a search, a product view and a merchant click from the same browser can be counted as one visit. It contains no personal information, is not shared with anyone, and expires after 90 days. It is set the first time you click through to a merchant. - A short-lived request counter. To stop automated abuse of the store search, we count recent searches per network address. The address is hashed with a key that exists only in server memory and changes on every restart; the hash is kept in memory for about ten minutes and is never written to storage.
- A log of paid searches. Each live store search is recorded (what was searched, when) so we can stay inside our search budget. This log holds no identifier for you.
What we do not do
- We do not ask for or store your name, email address or payment details.
- We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts.
- We do not sell or rent any of the data above.
- We do not store your network address in a database.
Third parties that receive data
- Search provider. When you run a store search, the search text is sent to a third-party search service (Google Shopping data via SerpApi) to find current listings. That service receives the query and our account credentials, not your identity.
- Merchants. When you click a merchant link you leave Spade² and the merchant’s own privacy policy applies. Some links carry an affiliate tag that tells the merchant the visit came from Spade²; see the disclosure in the footer. We do not receive any details of what you buy beyond what an affiliate network may report as a completed sale.
- Hosting. The application and its database run on hosting infrastructure chosen by the operator. Server logs there may record request details for operational troubleshooting.
Product images
Product photographs are loaded from the retailer or search provider that supplied them and are displayed with their source noted in the product details. Your browser fetches them through our image service, not directly from the source.

If something here is unclear, the operator’s contact details are published alongside this deployment. When the behaviour described here changes, this page will be updated and the date above will move.
